Expansion: 5 weekly sailings  London Thamesport - Moerdijk

As of today, 14 March 2025, A2B-online is adding a 5th weekly sailing to its scheduled service between Moerdijk and Hutchison Ports London Thamesport. Specifically, this expansion now means an arrival on every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at London Thamesport and an arrival on every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Moerdijk.  For A2B-online customers, this means more stability, capacity and flexibility.

Partners delighted with this expansion:

  • Mark Taylor, Director, London Thamesport
“London Thamesport offers its customers a service tailored to their specific demands and we are delighted that A2B-online continues to go from strength-to-strength. Demand in the short-sea container market continues to grow as shippers look for a reliable and predictable service offering which is something we deliver by working closely with our customers and maintaining a sharp focus on service-delivery.”

  • Michael van Keulen, Managing Director of A2B-online
“We have been working with London Thamesport for 11 years. Their dedication, flexibility and focus on operational excellence match our values and have helped drive our growth over that time. We look forward to building on our relationship and continuing together to deliver a consistent and high-quality service to our customers.”

The A2B-online Express continues in 2026

Almost a year after the departure of the first A2B-online Express, we are proud to announce that LTE Netherlands B.V. and A2B-online have extended their partnership for another year.

The launch of A2B Vision, a historic moment for A2B-online

Yes! Today, 23 December 2025, was finally the day: the launch of the A2B Vision. An unforgettable moment that the entire team has been eagerly awaiting and a huge milestone in the history of A2B-online. We will share today’s film footage soon!

Discover the A2B Vision

The A2B Vision was built at the SEDEF shipyard in Tuzla, Turkiye, and is expected to set sail in mid-2026, quickly followed by the A2B Progress. Read more about the construction of our new vessels >

Greener, larger and more versatile

With these new ships, we are fully committed to sustainability and flexibility:

  • Sustainable innovation: Equipped with dual fuel methanol engines, gate rudders and waste heat recovery systems to transport goods as greenly as possible.
  • Capacity: With a capacity of 650 TEU and space for more than 20 different container types (including 45ft, 30ft and various tank containers), we offer the flexibility that the short sea market demands.

Building the future together

Finally, a word about the people behind the A2B Vision! This achievement would not have been possible without the trust of our customers and shareholders, and the tireless dedication of our colleagues and the professionals at the shipyard. Thanks to them, we are ending the year on a high note. We can’t wait to officially take the A2B Vision into service!

12,5 Jaar A2B-online Container B.V.

16th December 2025:  A milestone at Sea. We have cause for celebration: 12.5 Years of A2B-online Container B.V. This week marks exactly 12.5 years since our first containers were shipped. The crossing of 16 containers on the Veritas H, sailing from Moerdijk to Immingham, signaled the start of our first liner service and the beginning of an adventure.

A Brief Retrospect
In June 2013, a highly motivated team—Gerard de Groot, Michael van Keulen, André Mast, Anouk van Hoven, Chris Zwarts, and Patrick van der Smissen—started with just one vessel, 16 containers, and a single scheduled service. Leveraging a vast network, years of experience, boundless ambition, and immense energy, this team, in close collaboration with key partners CCT (Combined Cargo Terminals B.V.) and ABP (Associated British Ports) quickly achieved unprecedented growth. That growth has led to what we are today: an organisation with over 40 colleagues, 7 ships of our own, 2,600 45-ft containers, 40 weekly sailings and more than 200,000 shipments.

 Our Gratitude 🙏🏼
Our sincere thanks go out to our customers, partners, suppliers, business relations and (former) colleagues. Our current status as a leading player is a direct result of the trust placed in us and often many years of fruitful and rewarding collaborations.

Looking Ahead
So much has changed in 12.5 years—and yet, not really. Our original core motivation in 2013 was to offer our clients stable services through a flexible organisation built on personal contact and smart IT solutions. These core values and drivers continue to be our guiding principle for both today and tomorrow! We look forward with great confidence, alongside our partners, to achieving the next milestones!

A2B-online starts collaboration with Kuijpers Group

28 October 2025 – Last week, Jaco van Eijk (A2B-online Equipment B.V.) and Marc Stormbroek (Transport Planner A2B-online Container B.V.) visited Kuijpers Group in Rotterdam. The reason: the delivery and commissioning of fifteen chassis supplied by Kuijpers to A2B-online.

Warm welcome

Ron de Dreu (Operational Director) and Marc van Wezenberg (Commercial / Operational) welcomed them, and under the watchful eye of the four men, one chassis after another was collected in a short time to start transporting the first containers for A2B-online’s customers.

About these “45ft only” chassis

This is the first time A2B-online has opted for chassis that are only suitable for transporting 45ft containers. Jaco:
“We don’t have 20ft or 40ft containers, so there’s no need for us to choose chassis with options we won’t use anyway. By choosing ‘45ft only’, we now have straightforward units that are simpler and more user-friendly, less maintenance- and damage-sensitive, and also lighter, which results in a higher payload.”

About this partnership

  • “We like to work with our suppliers as partners, including when it comes to our assets. Kuijpers is such a supplier: proactive, flexible, and with a long-term vision. Because there were already connections from a different capacity, it felt right immediately and we were able to move quickly. We are happy with this collaboration!”
    Jaco van Eijk
  • “We can switch quickly; if we don’t have it, then we buy it!”
    Ron de Dreu
  • “If it feels right, we’re happy to seal the deal quickly. What it’s about doesn’t really matter then.”
    Marc van Wezenberg

Rotterdam ↔ Teesport: Different Terminal, Same Service!

As of 5th January 2026, we will be relocating our continental service to the RST (Rotterdam Shortsea Terminals). From the RST, we will maintain 3 sailings a week between Rotterdam (NL) and Teesport (UK).

A2B-online partnership with RST
On 24 October 2025, the partnership between A2B-online and RST was officially ratified by Michael van Keulen (Managing Director of A2B-online Container B.V.) and Jeroen Zwijnenberg (CCO of RST) with a signature and a firm handshake. Also present at this festive moment were Annette van Ketel (Commercial Manager RST), Pieter Blom (General Manager Shipping & Terminals; A2B-online) and Arno Storm (CEO RST).

Benefits of this partnership
For RST, this collaboration is a valuable addition to its already extensive short-sea network. For A2B-online, the excellent hinterland connections from RST – both by inland waterway (barge) and rail (train) – will contribute to further volume growth to and from Teesport. We are therefore looking forward to a long-term collaboration with great optimism, said Michael van Keulen.

Would you like to know more about this service?
Our sales colleagues André Mast, Daniel Kamp and Nathan Burrell will be happy to tell you more about A2B-online, booking options, departure times, rates and more!

Match event 2025

Looking back at the MATCH event at the World Port Days
On behalf of this year’s World Port Days (Wereldhavendagen Rotterdam) A2B-online team, consisting of (from left to right) Dennis, Claudia, Maroesjka, Danny and Alex, we would like to thank the organisation of the MATCH event!  This career event was once again perfectly organised this year.
It was a pleasure!
And what a pleasure it was to talk to so many enthusiastic students, recent graduates and (other) job seekers last Friday!  What we noticed this year was the clearly more international character and the fact that interest was shown from an increasing number of different (study) fields. What a nice development of this event! We look forward to being there again next year!
