EDI / API interfaces
Did you know that it’s possible to connect your own application to our system? With an EDI or API connection, your bookings are processed directly in our system, and you automatically stay informed about their progress. If there’s a change to a booking on your side or ours, the update can be applied with just one click.
EDI & API
What is an EDI?
An EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) connection is a traditional, standardized system for electronically exchanging business documents—such as orders and invoices—between computers. This typically occurs in batches and is designed to automatically process large volumes of data between partners.
What is an API?
An API (Application Programming Interface) is a modern, flexible interface that enables different software programs to communicate with each other in real time. It works like a digital “waiter” that passes requests from one system to another and returns the responses, enabling direct and dynamic data exchange.
Connected to many common platforms
Transporeon Visibility Hub is a platform that helps companies gain real-time visibility into their shipments, from loading to delivery. This applies to transport by road, sea, rail, and air. The platform collects and analyzes data from thousands of carriers to provide accurate estimated times of arrival (ETAs) and to immediately alert users of potential delays. The goal is to enable proactive action, increase efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction.
Shippeo is a European supply chain visibility platform, similar to Project44. It specializes in real-time tracking of goods. By centralizing all carriers and shipments on one platform, Shippeo enables companies to respond proactively to delays, improve customer service, and reduce transportation costs.
Project44 is a supply chain visibility platform that helps companies optimize their transportation activities. The platform collects and processes real-time data on shipments, regardless of the mode of transport (truck, ship, plane, or train). This gives users insight into the exact location and status of their goods, enabling them to act proactively in case of disruptions and streamline their logistics processes.
A Port Community System (PCS) is a digital platform that connects all logistics parties in a port—such as terminals, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs authorities. The goal is to streamline the exchange of information, which increases efficiency and speeds up the flow of goods. By centralizing data such as arrival times and cargo information, a PCS reduces paperwork and communication errors, resulting in lower costs and better planning. Portbase, for example, is the PCS for Dutch ports, while Destin8 is a similar system primarily used in the United Kingdom.
