A2B-online is your go-to shortsea container and trailer shipping specialist.
Supported by our dedicated fleet of seven vessels and over 2,500 45ft containers, our tight schedule control secures rapid crossings between Continental Europe and the United Kingdom.
As post-Brexit logistics present ongoing challenges, A2B-online provides a dependable anchor. We bridge road transport agility with high-volume, eco-friendly shortsea capacity.
A2B-online handles your UK transport
We are direct operators, not intermediaries.
With our own fleet of vessels and 45ft pallet-wide containers, matching the load capacity of a standard trailer, we maintain complete control over your shipment.
From our strategic hubs in Moerdijk and Vlaardingen, we offer daily sailings to key UK ports, including Immingham, Teesport, and London Thamesport.
Since Brexit, customs compliance has become critical. Our experienced team handles all clearances and documentation, ensuring your UK-bound freight experiences zero border delays.
Door-to-Door (Full Load)
From collection at your site to final UK delivery, we handle the entire shipping process. You can leave every detail to us.
Quay-to-Quay
Simply drop off your freight at our terminal, we handle the shipping from there
Unaccompanied Transport
Safe and cost-effective freight transport, fully unaccompanied.
Did you know... that our 45ft containers have the exact same load capacity as a standard trailer (33 Euro pallets)? So there is no need to adjust your loading scheme.
Transport to Central and Northern England via Immingham
Is your cargo bound for the UK’s ‘Industrial Heartland’ or the Manchester/Leeds region? Our daily connections to Immingham serve as the ideal gateway. Thanks to its central location on the East Coast, we minimise UK road miles—saving time, reducing costs, and cutting CO2 emissions.
Focusing on the North and Scotland: Teesport
For shipments heading towards Newcastle, Middlesbrough, or Scotland, our Teesport route is the most efficient choice. By calling at this northern port, we bypass the heavily congested arterial roads in the South of England, guaranteeing swift transit times for your freight to Northern England.

Direct access to the London Market: Thamesport
Is your primary market located in the Greater London area or the South East? With our scheduled service to London Thamesport, we deliver your containers right into the economic heart of the UK. It serves as an excellent alternative to the congested Channel ferry ports, ensuring shorter driving distances for last-mile delivery.
Your customs clearance, seamlessly handled
Since Brexit, UK transport involves much more than just a sea crossing.
At A2B-online, we provide:

Questions about your UK transport?
4 x FAQ
How long does shortsea transport to the UK take?
The crossing itself takes between 12 and 16 hours on average, depending on the route (for example, Moerdijk to Immingham). For a complete door-to-door shipment, we typically operate on a lead time of 48 to 72 hours, from loading on the Continent to unloading at the recipient’s site in the UK.
Is a 45ft container the exact same size as a standard trailer?
Yes, virtually identical. Our 45ft pallet-wide high-cube containers are specifically designed to mirror the road freight market. They accommodate 33 Euro pallets—the exact same capacity as a standard trailer. This means you can stick to your usual loading plan while benefiting from the advantages of shortsea shipping.
Does A2B-online also handle customs clearance post-Brexit?
Absolutely. We have a specialist in-house team that manages all customs formalities. Whether handling export declarations in the Netherlands, UK import clearance, or processing via systems such as GVMS and Port Community Systems, we take care of the paperwork to keep your transport moving without delay
What are the benefits of unaccompanied transport to the UK?
With unaccompanied transport (LoLo and RoRo), cargo travels on board without a driver or tractor unit. This is significantly more cost-effective and far less vulnerable to the industry-wide driver shortage. Furthermore, CO2 emissions per unit moved are substantially lower compared to road transport via the Channel Tunnel.
